The Club Regina at Westin

Situated in the stunning desert of Baja California Mexico, the Club Regina Resort and adjoining Westin Hotel front the beautiful Sea of Cortez. During the winter months, you can watch whales splashing and spouting spray directly from your villa's terrace. This remarkable location provides the backdrop for a spectacular resort, sandwiched between the sea, mountains and deserts of Baja.
We have visited this resort several times. It remains our favorite place to stay in Los Cabos, and that is saying something considering the wealth of fantastic luxury resorts located in this area. The architecture of the resort is simply stunning. The Westin hotel's remarkable design resembles a semi-circle that blends on each side into the rocky hillsides. A large opening in the center of the structure frames a view of the magnificent Sea. Colors are designed to resemble and compliment the surrounding desert. The center of the circle is an area filled with a lush garden of tropical plants and beautiful flowers. The swimming pools are located outside along the beach. There are several restaurants available for guests including the upper end Arricefes Restaurant for fine dining and Las Cascadas Restaurant which features nightly themed buffets and open air dining under the stars.
The Club Regina Resort is located directly next to the hotel. Guests at Club Regina share all the facilities of the Westin. Both share common management. The timeshare condos do not resemble the futuristic Westin Hotel building. The condominiums are built to look like Pueblo Indian dwellings. They are three story structures built into the existing hillside and terraced up the side of the hill. Winding cobblestone roads provide access, and guests are serviced with free transportation on special oversized carts that come to pick you up and take you anywhere in the complex. The villas are one bedroom with two baths and two bedroom with three baths. Each also has a mini-kitchen, dining area, living room with fold out sofa bed and an outside terrace providing a sea view. Each bedroom contains a king size bed and a large jacuzzi tub. We found the villas to be very spacious and construction of high quality. Due to the design of the resort, almost all villas have great ocean views. In the winter months you can watch whales spouting in the ocean right from the comfort of your private terrace. Each villa also provides a very well appointed mini-kitchen with a two burner range, refrigerator, dish washing machine, microwave, appliances such as coffee maker and blender and complete table service, glasses and cook ware. Tap water is purified and safe to drink. Daily maid service is also provided and it is very thorough including a nightly turn down service.
Club Regina has its own lobby and check-in desk separate from the Westin. The Club Regina also has its own small restaurant named El Set which is open for breakfast and lunch. Next to El Set is a tiered swimming pool on 2 levels with the lower level being adults only. A small convenience store is also available for grocery items. We are eagerly awaiting our next visit.
